Hiring a limo in Sydney generally costs between $250 to $1,200, depending on the event, the distance travelled, time booked, and the vehicle selected.

Renting a limousine in Sydney can cost anywhere between $250 to $3,000 for a single booking – it will all depend on the service required. Most bookings sit between the $300 – $1,200 range, and typically includes multiple pick-ups and drop-off locations. Costs will factor in the hours of the booking, the distance between locations, and the vehicle/s used.

Wedding and special event limousine hire costs start at $490, but can increase to $3,000 or more, depending on how many cars are booked, the locations, and duration of hire. A wedding limousine hire can also involve booking multiple cars to cater to both the bride and groom parties. Most limo hire services in Sydney charge by the hour – the longer your event goes on for, the more you should expect to pay. Keep in mind that most limousine hire services have a minimum 2-3 hour booking period. 

You’ll have access to the limousine for the entirety of the duration – the limo will arrive on time for pickup and wait while you enjoy your event. 

There’s an exception for luxury and airport transfer services – these are not charged by duration but by the pickup and drop-off location.

Limousine hires are perfect for big events like weddings, milestone birthday celebrations, and school formals. Generally, weddings will want to book more than one vehicle.

Depending on the vehicle chosen, limousines can comfortably seat up to 15 guests, meaning most events will only need ~3 limos max. More vehicles will also drive up the costs, but a limousine hire company will be able to offer packages/bundles for special events.

Limousines booked on Friday through to the weekend are naturally going to cost more in Sydney than mid-week bookings. There’s more traffic, general demand, and more events to be catered to – which means bookings for the weekends generally need to be made earlier too.

H3: Special requests

Limo hire inclusions will depend on the company – at Show Limousines, we offer a professional uniformed chauffeur, punctual pick up and drop off, and complimentary use of onboard facilities such as lighting and sound system.

Special requests outside the inclusions listed above, such as: decorating the car with bows, arranging for alcoholic drinks, rolling out the red carpet, or child car seats, can be separate additions to the cost of the hire.

H3: Deposit Amount

You will need to put down a deposit amount for the limo hire – this amount can range from 20-40% of the total cost of the hire. 

The deposit amount covers part of the total fee – the remaining balance will (generally) be paid 2 weeks in advance of the event date. 

Ensure this payment is prepared before you book; this will save you from late payment charges and unnecessary stress nearer to the event.

H3: Avoid Timing Delays 

While you will have complete freedom to use the limo as you like during the booked period, any additional time after the agreed period will often be charged according to a separate rate. 

The cost of the timing delays for the return of the vehicle varies between $50 – $100 per 15 minute period according to the type of the vehicle and the company policies.

Keep a tight schedule for the event to minimise additional costs at the end of the hire.

Limo hire services in Sydney are booked weeks and sometimes months in advance. Peak booking periods are typically around the end-of-year holidays, school formals, and weddings from September to December.
